Jethro Tull has enjoyed not only a healthy and rabid fanbase but has seen many of their original albums remixed and reissued to perfect standards. Jethro Tull has twenty albums from the classic era, one of which is The Broadsword and The Beast. Released in 1982. this album sought to recapture the allure of the early Jethro Tull and yet stay as relevant as possible in the midst of a changing musical climate. This album generated a minor hit with “Fallen On Hard Times”.
On September 1, Jethro Tull will return with a massive 40th Anniversary package for The Broadsword and The Beast that will include Steven Wilson-newly remixed original tracks, and packing in demos, session tracks, live recordings, and rough mixes as the musical offerings. To upgrade the Deluxe box further, there is a MASSIVE 164-page book along with 3DVDs.
The DVDs will provide a DVD with hi-res Stereo in 96kHz/24-bit, and two 5.1 Surround Sound remixes along with a flat transfer of the original mix; a DVD with the associated recordings found on CD2 mixed in hi res stereo and 5.1 Surround; and a DVD with Live in Germany (as heard on CD 4 and 5), mixed in hi-res Stereo and two 5.1 Surround formats.
The 5CDs include the original album in Steven Wilson 2023 remix, associated recordings, a CD of Demos, master mixes, and more, and 2CDs of Live In Germany from 1982.
There will also be a 4LP 40th Anniversary box set made available as well as an ALL-inclusive 40th Anniversary bundle that packages both boxsets together.
