Pale Saints, formed in the late ’80s just as music was beginning to shift away from the New Wave style of the ’80s and into the distinct musical styles adopted in the ’90s. Signed to the influential 4AD label in 1989, Pale Saints created only three albums before they disbanded in 1997. but those albums were excellent.
On May 23, Pale Saints will finish up their catalog restoration with a 30th Anniversary remaster and added bonus tracks for the final album, Slow Buildings. This new set is in the Re: Masters series. This album featured the single, “Fine Friend”. (I’m partial to their version of “Blue Flower”, original by Slapp Happy, and covered earlier by another ’90s gem, Mazzy Star.) These adds will feature the Fine Friend EP and a collection of demos and other previously unheard tracks.
The 30th Anniversary of Slow Buildings will be reissued on 2CD, DD, and vinyl LP.
