New York Dolls, credited with helping spearhead the emerging Punk style into existence, began in 1971, with their Todd Rundgren-produced debut arriving in 1973. The debut was followed by the prophetically titled, Too Much Too Soon set in 1974. The band dismantled after album number two looking to solo routes to sustain their creativity streams. David Johansen, the last remaining member alive passed recently. New York Dolls reunited to create three more sets but never with the original five members. The legacy left is unsmeared.
In the TBA bracket, MoFi will reissue the New York Dolls classic debut in a 2LP set pressed on 180g-weight black vinyl ad cut at 45RPM. The set features a 1/4” / 15 IPS Dolby A analog master to DSD 256 to analog console to lathe sound path.
The New York Dolls debut is a valuable album for me and so I’m hotly interested in this set.
