Slade is one of those ’70s bands that gave something to everyone. As a result, they are fondly remembered as much today as they were back during their periods of peak existence. Over the last few years, remasters and upgraded albums have come to the marketplace for Slade fans. Those include new vinyl and colors for the collectors, and remastering of great songs for the overall fan.

On May 19, BFI will go the extra route and reissue the film, Slade In Flame. the reissue will feature new high definition and standard definition options. Also, brand new audio commentary has been recorded for this new reissue by the director of the movie, Richard Loncraine, and UK-based movie critic, Mark Kermode (The Observer). This 90-minute 1975 movie will be offered as a 2-disc package that will contain both DVD and BD. This reissue marks the first time that Slade In Flame has been issued on the Blu-ray media. The package also adds in a newly recorded interview with Scottish actor, Tom Conti, who played an agent in the musical of the rise and fall of a band that featured Slade as the members of Flame.

Slade had released an album of the same title that generated two popular Slade hits, “Far Far Away” and “How Does It Feel”, both which are often included on Slade compilations, of which there are many.
