Pete Doherty has been a famous part of The Libertines, Babyshambles, Puta Madres, and a growing solo career. If you’re Libertines fan, then Pete Doherty is no secret to you. You have, no doubt followed his career as it blossomed. His style is poetic and folkish in nature, a bit of a move away from his Libertines and Babyshambles styles. But his offerings are still mesmerizing and fun to listen to. In the past, I’ve likened Pete and his musical exploits with Babyshambles much reminiscent of Johnny Thunders And The Heartbreakers. Although there are years, even decades between them, the spirit is much the same.
On May 16, Peter Doherty plans a new album to be called Felt Better Alive. This one follows after the 2022 release of The Fantasy Life Of Poetry and Crime (with Frédéric Lo), which itself released several singles, which includes the excellent “You Can’t Keep It From Me Forever” (heard below). The new album will contain 11 new songs from the songwriter and is considered to be his first solo effort without collaborators in nine years ad will be his fifth solo effort. The first single is called “Felt Better Alive” and can also be heard below.
Felt Better Alive will be released on CD, DD, Cassette, and three colors of vinyl LP that include standard black vinyl, a Limited Edition and Exclusive Transparent LP, and a 1: Pink and 1:Magenta 2LP Exclusive pressing package. You can pre-order them all here as well as a few bundling options.
