Carlos Santana, the guitar virtuoso that has been with us for decades, has recorded many enduring and memorable songs and albums. From his ranks, there rose bands: Neal Schon formed Journey, Gregg Rolie formed Journey, and Leon Patillo enjoyed a solo career. With songs like “Black Magic Woman”, “Evil Ways”. “Oye Como Va”, and more from over 25 studio sets that include Caravanserai, Santana, Abraxas, and Supernatural. we have been fortunate to have one of the world’s greats in our lives for so long.
On March 28, Carlos Santana will release a collection of extraordinary collaborations with the likes of Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Smokey Robinson, and more – 11 tracks altogether on the album to be called Sentient. They represent things that have been previously released in other packages but also add in three previously unreleased tracks – an alternate version of “Please Don’t Take Your Love”, which was recorded with Smokey Robinson and is here featured as a “sentient” track, and “Coherence” with Cindy Blackman Santana, and an instrumental of “Stranger In Moscow” with Michael Jackson. The Sentient album is newly remastered for this collected release.
Sentient will be issued on CD, DD, and two versions of vinyl that will include the standard Black vinyl LP, and a Limited Edition Blue vinyl LP offering.
