Simple Minds produced a string of well-received albums although it wasn’t until “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, a song from the John Hughes-directed movie, The Breakfast Club, that the band itself broke big. Nevertheless, the hits were coming as the Scottish band were producing excellent releases that were gaining in accessibility. To this day, Simple Minds exists with only Charlie Burchill, and Jim Kerr left from the days of their heights. One of their popular albums was the classic Live In the City Of Light (1987). that live set became a multi-platinum sales set for Simple Minds.
On April 25, Simple Minds will release a new live set to be called Live In The City Of Diamonds. The set is assembled from their April 6, 2024 Ziggo Dome (Amsterdam) show in front of 17,000 people. It contains 24 live tracks (the 2LP gatefold set is truncated to fit in 18 performance tracks (should have issued 3 LPS, boyos). One of the songs is their “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” tune that can be heard below. A 24-page booklet is inserted into the 2CD Mediabook set.
Live In the City Of Diamonds will be issued on 2CD, DD, and 2LP sets. There is a Limited Edition Clear with Glitter vinyl press 2LP available as well in specialty markets).
