Angel started with Casablanca Records, a label that gained lucrative power due to the burgeoning popularity of KISS. Gene Simmons discovered the band and became instrumental in their signing to Casablanca. During the lifespan of Angel, they released five studio sets during their peak era, and a popular live package. Known for their flashy appearances to blend with their band persona, they gained a wide audience and enjoyed the success of each of their peak-year albums. Their best known – On Earth As It Is In Heaven (1977) – Angel also enjoyed the success of a radio hit, “That Magic Touch”. The band largely broke up in 1981 and reformed decades later.

In late March, the self-titled debut from Angel will be reissued as a 50th Anniversary celebration. Sadly, there will be no bonus tracks, outtakes, etc. But the fact that this magnificent hard rock gem is being revisited is a moment to be appreciated. The album will be released via Deko Entertainment in several packages.

Angel will be reissued on Limited Edition 6-panel digipak CD limited to only 500 copies, DD, and two Limited Edition vinyl versions that include Blue/Black Swirl vinyl limited to only 700 copies, and Blue/White Swirl vinyl limited to only 300 copies. The label is the Casablanca legacy label. There will be two available CD/LP bundles as well. Pre-order all here.
