Mediavolo is a band from France that caters to Ethereal Pop. They are currently the beautiful vocals and lyrics from Géraldine Le Cocq, and the music of Jacques Henry. They entered the world in the late ’90s. By 2006, they had released their breakthrough album, A Secret Sound via Kalinkaland Records. The album was a turning point delivering excellence, song after song. To get an idea of Mediavolo, think The Sundays.
On December 17, Mediavolo will reissue the album with brand new remastering that will upgrade the sound quality immensely. In addition, the original album had been released with an unintended sequence of tracks. This has been changed for this 2024 edition of A Secret Sound. Previously, “Hollow Of You” and a ghost track were at the end. Now, “How Does It End” returns to the end of the sequence as intended with the ghost track (“Trapped”) retaining its unlisted inclusion. The album artwork has been redone.
A Secret Sound will be reissued on CD, Deluxe Edition DD with 25 tracks that include instrumentals, demo of “Mass Anaesthesia”, and a bonus Christmas carol in “Silent Night” (found on Apple Music, Spotify, etc.), Vinyl LP pressed on black vinyl, and a 4-track “Mass Anaethesia” EP that will put together the 2024 remaster of the original track, an instrumental version, an uptempo version, and a downtempo version in a collectible set.
