The reign of Alice Cooper (The Band) was a short one. It lasted from 1969 with the release of Pretties For You on Straight Records through the final album of Muscle Of Love in 1973. It was released in the same year as the highly successful Billion Dollar Babies, which itself sold over a million copies and yielded four hit singles. Muscle of Love was the nail in the coffin (if I’m allowed to use such a phrase) for the band. It was an attempt to pull away from the theatricality the band found itself tied into, despite the fact that Alice Cooper (the man) would resolve to after the band’s demise. Regardless, for some, Muscle Of Love was a good Alice Cooper band album; for others not so much. Personally, I loved it. (What did you think?)
On January 13 of 2025, a Deluxe Edition of Muscle of Love will be made available. It will contain the original album newly remastered for 2024. It will also present a collection of 9 previously unreleased tracks that will provide alternate mixes, early versions, single versions, and an “Acoustic Diversion” of “Teenage Lament ’74”. This set will also include a Blu-ray Audio with 192kHz/24-bit resolution Quad mixes and Stereo mixes. An insert will be added with autographs by all surviving members of the band. All is packed into the original-styled box packaging the album was originally supplied with.
This Limited Edition CD/BD-Audio Box will also be made available as a 2LP Box with Limited Edition Pink vinyl. The DD is available and can be heard on streaming services.
