Dave Edmunds has made the name for himself in the history of Rock. With his first hit, “I Hear You Knocking” (the song that first alerted me to him), he entered the charts with mass appeal. His fondness for the rockabilly style expanded into his New Wave efforts that include his solo issues and his time with Rockpile. He has 14 solo sets, one with Rockpile, and two with an early band – Love Sculpture. His output is timeless and indicative of a beautiful era of Rock. He spent four years signed to the Led Zeppelin boutique label, Swan Song. In that time, he issued four strong, well-received albums that include Get It (1977), Tracks On Wax 4 (1978), the award winning Repeat When Necessary (with hit singles, “Queen Of Hearts”, “Crawling From The Wreckage”, and “Girl’s Talk”), and Twangin’… (1981).

On September 27, Omnivore Recordings will release a 29 track compilation that follows the songs from his time with Swan Song Records. Along with the A and B-sides extractions from the four albums, this 2 disc set will add in photos, sleeve art, and an essay by Joe Marchese of The SecondDisc.com. (And around here, we love our counterparts at Second Disc!) The set will officially be known as Swan Songs: The Singles 1976-1981. The songs are newly remastered for this issue.

Swan Songs will be released on 2CD, DD, and 2LP.
