Nektar, a German progressive band from the late ’60s, helped to pioneer the style of the long song. For approximately seven years, Nektar enjoyed a strong peak era with six albums before disbanding. And although they briefly reformed in 1980 to release Man On The Moon, the strain proved too much and the band dissolved. Since 2000, the band reformed and released a series of albums under varying membership. Nektar, now a US-based band, has only original bassist on board in Derek “Mo” Moore (original drummer, Ron Howden, passed in late 2023).

On June 28, the current band will release a live set from a 2023 performance in Dunellen, NJ at the Dunellen Theatre (where they will appear once again on June 7, 2024). The set in this 2023 recording will feature 15 performance tracks that were recorded for video using five cameras. The set is being called Journey To The Other Side – Live At The Dunellen Theatre, June 10, 2023. It helps to celebrate 50 years of the Nektar.

Journey To The Other Side will be presented in an 8-panel 2CD/BD digipak collection. The BD will feature the video of the performance and will add in two extra performance tracks with “Devil’s Door”, and “King Of Twilight”.
