By the time the original Alice Cooper band rolled onto Billion Dollar Babies, the band was at the top of their game. Previously, they had released two obscure titles on Frank Zappa’s WB boutique label, Straight Records (Pretties For You – 1969, and Easy Action – 1970). Those were followed by Love It To Death (1971), Killer (1971), and the breakout album, School’s Out (1972). With the arrival of Billion Dollar Babies came a path of four well-received singles (“Hello, Hooray”, “Elected”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “Billion Dollar Babies”). It was a surprise to find the band in disarray by the release of their next album, Muscle of Love, just a mere year after Billion Dollar Babies. Nevertheless, the Billion Dollar Babies album left it’s ‘forever’ mark on the world of Rock even if their last album as a band did not.
On March 8, Rhino Entertainment will celebrate the Billion Dollar Babies set with newly remastered audio in a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. The package will include the expected billion dollar bill insert, and a booklet that contains new notes and interviews parts concerning the album and its songs. The bonus tracks found on CD2 and LP3 will include outtakes and single versions. The extras and outtakes were previously seen on the 2001 Deluxe Edition.
The 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition package of Billion Dollar Babies will be released on 2CD, DD, and 3LP packages.
