One of the well remembered bands from the ’70s were Thin Lizzy. The band enjoyed plenty of success on the jet trails of Jailbreak (1976) with strong forward movement. However, there were five album sets issued before Jailbreak, with Fighting (1975) getting them on the dashboard of appreciation and recognition. Another was Vagabonds Of The Western World. Released in 1973 via Decca Records, it was the third album from the growing band.
On December 15, Vagabonds Of The Western World will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with an expanded box set that will include the remastered original album, a collection of live tracks, and more than a handful of rarities and previously unreleased music from the recording and issue period of the album. A Dolby Atmos mix is available as a DD issue for the album. A BD disc is packed in along with a hardbound book to make this boxed set a definitive reissue for the album.
The 50th Anniversary of Vagabonds Of The Western World will be celebrated with 3CD/BD Box, DD, a 4LP Black Vinyl package, and a Limited Edition 2LP Purple Vinyl. A website-exclusive 7″ blue vinyl single of “Whiskey In The Jar” b/w “Black Boys On The Corner” is available as of November 17 for collectors. Another separately available BD-Audio set is available as well.
