The Moody Blues formed in the early years of the ’60s but came to greater prominence in the late ’60s with Nights In White Satin, and then again in 1972 when it rose as a single. After its initial release, they released a string of consecutively successful album through 1981, 9 in all (not counting their debut or the underperforming The Present (1983). They returned to the charts in the US with 1986’s The Other Side Of Life). One of those revered classics is To Our Children’s Children’s Children. Released in 1969, the album sold quite well with a strongly formed fanbase. And despite the low acceptance of a single from it, it sold several million copies worldwide.

On May 12, The Moody Blues will reissue To Our Children’s Children’s Children in a quite promising 50th Anniversary 4CD/BD-Audio package that will bring the beloved set a new Stereo remaster and new remixes in 5.1 Surround, and 96kHz/24-bit Stereo (This album already has a sweet SACD in reissue from 2006.) This package is a highly anticipated one (by me, and I’m sure, thousands of die-hard fans).

Inside the 4CD/BD set will be the original album remastered, alternate versions and live cuts, a new set of mixes (44.1kHz in 16-bit Stereo/96kHz in 24-bit Stereo/5.1 Surround) for the original album, and a live show from December 12, 1969 at The Royal Albert Hall presented in both a new Stereo mix, and a 5.1 Surround mix. An important book add is to be cherished with the box set with all kinds of historical goodies.

Additionally, amid all this great news for To Our Children’s Children’s Children, a 2LP (standard black vinyl) for the Live At The Royal Albert Hall – December 12, 1969 show. Referred to as To Our Children’s Children’s Children (The Royal Albert Hall Concert 1969), the 2LP package will preset the show in a new Stereo mix over 3 sides. The 2LP set is Limited Edition. The LP pares two tracks from the show but adds 3 new 2022 remixed live tracks on Side C.
