Given the sad news of the passing of Robert Gordon, it is equally exciting to know that Robert Gordon had a new album on the shelves waiting for public enjoyment. For years, his revivalist solo efforts after his time with the NYC punk band, Tuff Darts, were well-received and highly appreciated. With a baritone voice that was suited to the old school of early Rock, Robert Gordon never once disappointed a fan of his style. With eleven albums in his catalog, the best from his first phase that generated Bad Boy, Are You Gonna Be The One, and Rock Billy Boogie, all RCA issues, and his first two with Link Wray on Private Stock Records Robert Gordon was one of the best in his time.
On November 25, Cleopatra Records will release a collection of vault-consigned tracks. In that, there are tracks meant for a 1998 album that never materialized. The songs are a party of original songs and covers done in the impressive Gordon style. The album – to be called Hellafied – was recorded with legendary sessions guy, Chris Spedding, who has worked with many notables.
Hellafied will be issued on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.
