Once Small Faces became too confining for Steve Marriott, he left to form Humble Pie with Peter Frampton (who was originally wanted by Marriott to join Small Faces but the idea was vetoed out). Humble Pie went on to form a strong fanbase and enjoy strong chart and stage successes. The band created 10 studio albums but only four with Frampton, who ended his affiliation with Humble Pie in 1971 with Rock On (their fourth). There is an air of uncertainty surrounding Street Rats, released in 1975 that mars the album.
On December 2, an 8CD Box for Humble Pie, called The A&M Box Set 1970-1975. The seven albums included within (Humble Pie – 1970, Rock On – 1971, Smokin’ – 1972, Eat It – 1973, Thunderbox – 1974, Street Rats – 1975, and the live set, Performance: Rockin’ The Fillmore – 1971) have all been newly remastered for this box.
A hardbound book is packed in with essays, notes, memorabilia, photos, and credits. Along with the book is a lithograph, and a bonus disc of B-Sides and rarities – five of the tracks previously unreleased.
