The Slade upgrades by BMG of all of their classic album releases still has plenty of legs. The immediate peak era has been redone. But there are definitely others. Let’s look at Crackers. In 1985, this compile gathered newly re-recorded previous Slade hits and a collection of Christmas songs to produce a best-selling UK set that reached high up in the UK charts.

On October 7, BMG returns with a new recompile of Crackers and tucks in a perennial favorite from 1973 in “Merry Christmas Everybody” (the track that keeps Noddy Holder’s retirement fund fully funded). In fact, this new compilation set will present 20 complete songs, one of them a live performance of the previously mentioned classic of “Merry Christmas Everybody”.

This reissue and recomplation of Crackers will be issued on CD, DD, and Limited Edition Snowflake Splatter vinyl LP.
