David Bowie is something for everyone. Recently, a previously shelved finished album was “discovered” in the vaults and the decision to release it was arrived at. There is a Box collection coming (Brilliant Adventure) that covers the ground from 1992 through 2001. Toy was ready for release in 2001 but label disagreements kept it under wraps.
On January 7, 2022, a standalone 3CD, DD, and vinyl LP of Toy (Toy: Box) will be made available for those that prefer it as a standalone offering. (Brilliant Adventure will release on November 26.) The set will provide the intended original album release along with a collection of alternate recordings and proposed B-sides. A single from this set is in release and can be heard below – “You’ve Got A Habit Of Leaving”.
Toy (Toy:Box) will also include a CD of unplugged tracks. The vinyl set will feature 6 10″ vinyl discs.
