With Mott The Hoople changing, and Free in a state of disarray for various reasons, Mick Ralphs, along with Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, joined wih ex-King Crimson bassist, Boz Burrell to form Bad Company. Little did the newly formed band realized, they’d soon be filling large arenas with their heady brand of Rock and Roll. They combined a knack for song-writing and great musicianship to produce one of Rock’s great debut albums, Bad Company. Released in 1974, Bad Company (the album) sold well, eventually putting up sales of over 5 million copies in the US alone. The new album produced three singles along with a few FM staples (“Ready For Love”, “Rock Steady”).
On August 2, Atlantic Records will celebrate their affiliation with Bad Company by releasing a remastered 6CD Box of the classic albums from the band. With this new reissue, this Box is expanded to include two more albums, Desolation Angels (1979), and Rough Diamonds (1982). These two albums are newly remastered for this set. The new box is rebranded as Swan Song Years 1974-1982.
