The Beatles held the world in sway in the early ’60s. That was when Rock was in its infancy, just years away from its rebellious period in the later ’60s. During that period, The Beatles played dates in several locations including The Hollywood Bowl, where they sold out dates in both 1964 and 1965. In anticipation of the upcoming Ron Howard Beatles documentary, Eight Days A Week: The Touring Years, Capitol Records and Apple Records will release a selected set of seventeen performance tracks in a collection called Live At The Hollywood Bowl. Of the seventeen available tracks, four have been previously unreleased (see track-list below).
Live At The Hollywood Bowl will be released on CD and in DD formats on September 9. The vinyl edition will be delayed until November 18. The vinyl edition will be pressed on 180g-weight vinyl, and housed in a gatefold sleeve. The CD edition will contain a 24-page booklet with new notes by David Fricke.
