Elektra Records have fresh new vinyl coming for a bona fide classic, Kick Out The Jams from MC5. The LP re-release is scheduled for January 8.
Rhino Records will release vinyl for Crazy Horse from the band of the same name, planned for January 8.
Virgin Records will release Parklive from Blur on December 18, CD and DVD.
Hundred Handed will release The Afterman: Descension from Coheed and Cambria is planned for February 5.
Zappa Records have LÄTHER (1996), and Finer Moments by Frank Zappa on the calendar for December 18.
And because I have such a love affair with Wishbone Ash, I find it necessary to mention that Geffen Records will reissue the Front Page News title as a digital download (DD) on December 11. Of course, there are a ton of DD titles being released. I just don’t know whether or not you’re actually interested in this kind of info.
Artist Intelligence have McQueen, Steve from M83 arriving on November 27.
Simha Records will release Dreamchaser by Sarah Brightman on January 22.
Eagle Rock will release a 2-disc live set from Gamma Ray on December 4 called Live: Skeletons and Majesties.
Epitaph Records have True North coming from Bad Religion on both CD and vinyl LP, both scheduled for January 22.
And I REALLY like this one: Relayer Records will release a remastered, limited edition CD of what should be an excellent live set featuring Hot Tuna on December 4. The set is titled Live at New Orleans House – Berkeley, CA 9/69.
It is also great to discover that Audio Fidelity will be releasing a vinyl LP of Broken English by Marianne Faithfull on December 4.
Iconoclassic will reissue For Earth Below by Robin Trower on December 18. Great XMas gift!!
And Friday Music will reissue Days of Future Passed by Moody Blues on LP with a scheduled release date of December 4.
Wonder what the deal is on that Coheed amp; Cambria release. It has already been released on cd.
I would imagine that is a vinyl or 5.1 release.
Let me look a little closer. It is probably vinyl.
The upcoming live Hot Tuna release from 1969 came out about a year and a half ago. It’s now being re-released on a new label, with “remastered” amp; “limited edition” apparently being used as an enticement. The sound on the original was great; I seriously doubt there’s actually been any remastering. And I suspect it’s only “limited” to the amount they sell…….or until it moves to yet another label. If you don’t already own it, though, definitely pick it up. It’s taken from the same shows as their first album (albeit alternate renditions), and definitely merits the 4 stars given by allmusic.
